Enriching the Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics curriculum

Are you looking for ways to enrich and enhance your Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) curriculum?

Through the STEMNET brokerage contract, Suffolk EBP has a responsibility to provide all schools and colleges with impartial advice and guidance on a wide range of STEM Enhancement & Enrichment (E&E) activities. We can help you identify which opportunities can best inspire people in STEM including advice on activities listed in nationally recognised STEM directories as well as other regional and local provision.

STEM E&E is something that provides the curriculum with opportunities to deliver more relevant content and good activities should:

  • raise awareness of the impact of STEM
  • raise awareness of STEM careers and opportunities in industry and business
  • be motivating and have engaging contexts to capture students' enthusiasm
  • be directly linked to industry and business
  • ngage with scientists, engineers and mathematicians
  • add value to the school curriculum
  • challenge perceptions of STEM careers
  • raise aspirations and confidence in STEM education

We support schools by:

  • offering advice and guidance to teachers on suitable and relevant schemes and activities including STEM Clubs
  • providing details of, or facilitating contact with, the person or organisation best suited to meeting teachers' specific needs
  • loaning out K'Nex Kits for challenge events and activity days
  • Provide work experience placements for students
