Work-related learning is about preparing young people: For work, About work, Through work.
You may already co-operate with a school to provide some sort of work-related learning, such as work experience, or you may perhaps, be thinking of getting involved in some way.
The Suffolk Education Business Partnership sets up and facilitates links between businesses and schools for mutual benefit and to help prepare young people in their journey from education to employment.
We are working with partners to find what you as an employer feel about business / school and college collaboration. This is the first survey of its type in Suffolk and your answers will help us develop services that are more efficient and effective in supporting your aims. The responses will also provide us with valuable baseline data on the types of work-related learning that exists in the county and enable us to form a cohesive strategy for employer education collaboration.
The Suffolk Education Business Partnership is part of a steering group that is committed to improving communication with local employers. Partners in this work include: 14-19 Strategy Team, Suffolk County Council Youth and Connexions, BT, Hutchison Ports, Federation of Small Businesses, Training Provider Network, Headteachers, Colleges and the Learning and Skills Council.
A consultation event for the proposed strategy will be held on 11th December 2008 at BT, Adastral Park, Martlesham, Ipswich. With this date in mind, it would be extremely helpful if you could spend a few minutes of your time completing this survey. Your views are really important to the overall aim of providing the ‘joined-up-thinking’ that is needed to reduce the number of approaches made to you by those involved in education.
