CREST Awards

CREST (CREativity in Science and Technology) is a UK-wide Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) award scheme managed by the BA (British Association for the Advancement of Science).

Through CREST, young people aged 11-19 explore the real nature of STEM by doing their own creative problem solving through mini projects.

BA CREST awards are available in two subject areas - Science or Technology - chosen by students subject to approval from the teacher and BA Crest, at three levels:

Bronze

  • 10 hours of project work
  • Typically completed by 11-14 year olds

Silver

  • 40 hours of project work
  • Typically completed by 14-16 year olds

Gold

  • 100 hours of project work
  • Typically completed by 16+ year olds

The levels are progressive but can be awarded separately at any stage. The differentiated levels enable youngsters of all abilities to experience positive achievement in Science, Engineering, Technology and Maths (STEM) and cover many of the required key skills in the process.

BA CREST Awards are organised and administered through the Suffolk Education Business Partnership.

For more information, and how to register, please contact Ann Cloke.
